Qroma Photo is a California based startup company that was founded in the summer of 2014 by Tony Knight, a veteran product manager and software developer whose background includes developing digital media products for companies like Apple, Adobe & Tivo.
Our first product, QromaScan, was designed as a better way for iPhone users to scan and tag print photos using voice recognition instead of typing. The was successfully funded on Kickstarter in the summer of 2015, and shipped to users worldwide 3 months later.
Since then, the QromaTag & QromaFlip product lines have been released, giving iOS and Mac users a new way to tag and preserve their photos for generations to come.
Since the very first photos were introduced to consumers in the 1800s, they have been enjoyed and passed down generation after generation in paper form. As we move into an increasingly digital world, will this always be the case? Instead of passing boxes of photos down to families, we may simply pass data, and that’s where Qroma Photo comes in.
Our technology is designed not only to simplify the scanning of high quality photos, but also make them easily searchable for today and tomorrow. Traditional ways of doing this involve lots of typing, and this has been a tedious barrier that most people avoid. We developed Natural Language Tagging to empower our users to describe their photos naturally, and our software automatically recognizes and tags key elements, such as when the photo was taken, where it was taken, and who is in it.
The results are photos that you can find & enjoy today, and easily searchable as they get passed down in our increasingly digital world.
So, how are we doing on this journey towards developing products designed to help you make the most of your digital future?
Whether it's good or bad let us know! We always love to hear feedback both from customers and those just kicking the tires.
